4.31 Behavioural Expectations

4.31.1 Te Aho Matua is the guiding philosophy of the kura.
4.31.2 The behaviours desired by tauira attending Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Ngaa Papaonekura are the ones consistent with Te Aho Matua. Whānau will be contacted, and their cooperation expected when their child’s behaviour is causing concern at kura. All consequences of unacceptable behaviour will be viewed as learning opportunities and will be recorded in the school management system of ETAP or KAMAR. Akonga who are identified regularly will be supported by the kura to improve their behaviour and ensure it is in line with Te Aho Matua, while also providing access to expertise and relevant agencies to broker positive outcomes. Students that consistently breach this policy may be subject to policy 4.30.
2.4.31.3 Behavioural Expectations within this policy should be understood in association with our school rules and tauira conduct below.
4.31.4 Tauira agree to;

  • Ka whāia, ka whakatinanahia ngā mātāpono e ono, me Te Aho Matua i ngā wā katoa.

  • Kōrero Māori i ngā wa katoa.

  • I will obey and uphold tikanga and instructions of all kaimahi o TKKM o Ngaa Papaonekura.

  • I will respect school property and the property of others.

  • I will be responsible for my internet access and shall not use the internet inappropriately.

  • I will uphold the dress code and always present myself in a tidy manner.

  •  I will complete mahi and present all mahi to the very best of my ability in all areas of school life.

  •  I will abide by all rules in place at TKKM o Ngaa Papaonekura for my safety and the safety of others. 

  • I understand that my enrolment at TKKM o Ngaa Papaonekura is a privilege, and understand that my actions and attitude will determine my ongoing enrolment at this Kura Kaupapa Māori.

  • I will engage and participate in all Kaupapa set up by TKKM o Ngaa Papaonekura.

  • I will attend all wānanga planned for tauira and will act in a manner that supports the tikanga of TKKM o Ngaa Papaonekura.

  •  I will complete all assignments and mahi kainga when provided for me by Kaiako. 

  • I will try my very best in all that I do embodying the kura motto ‘Whāia ko teMana Motuhake’
